IMPLANTS

A dental implant is a surgical procedure often used for restorative measures, or to replace and fill the space of missing teeth. A small prosthetic post is placed into the bone of the jaw which serves as an anchor for an artificial tooth. An implant helps to preserve bone structure and prevent teeth from shifting. Implants also allow patients renewed comfort and maintain oral health, improve the ease of tasks such as eating, and restore confidence in their smile.

RESTORATION

The purpose of restorative dentistry is to repair damaged teeth or replace missing ones. The goal is to save teeth and to provide teeth that look, feel, and work like natural teeth. It can include:

Veneers;

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain which is customized to slide over your teeth and look completely natural. It’s used to mask imperfections such as chips, stains, close gaps, and more. The porcelain material used is durable, resists staining, and is long lasting.

Crowns;

A crown sits over the entire part of the tooth above the gum line, acting as a cap over the tooth. As it encases the tooth, a crown becomes the new tooth surface, protecting, covering, and strengthening the tooth. Crowns are used to treat a variety of situations, such as cracked or broken teeth, or to strengthen a tooth after root canal therapy.

Bridges;

A missing tooth or teeth can cause a variety of complications to your oral and overall health. Strained biting, trouble speaking or chewing, shifting teeth, and gum disease are all common side effects of a missing tooth. A dental bridge is a false tooth which looks entirely natural, and is used to replace the missing tooth or teeth. It will act as a place holder to prevent other teeth from shifting, reduce complications to your oral health, and improve your smile.  Book a complimentary consultation and we’ll help you determine if a bridge is the right solution for your missing teeth.

Partial Dentures/ Full Dentures;

Are Another possible solution for a missing tooth or teeth. These are made of porcelain material and look like your natural teeth. Dentures will help alleviate the complications of missing teeth by filling in those gaps, making chewing and speaking easier, and improving your overall oral health, not to mention your smile. With the many negative side effects that come with missing teeth, such as the onset of gum disease, shifting adjacent teeth, and a less than perfect smile, dentures may be the perfect solution for you. More comfortable and virtually invisible, these aligners won’t cause food to get stuck in your teeth nor do they require tightening and maintenance. Specially trained and certified to treat using Align Technology, Dr. Hamad will determine if Invisalign can help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted. EXTRACTION

Tooth extraction is a minor oral surgery that is performed only when necessary. One of the most common conditions that require extraction is wisdom teeth which are unable to grow normally or are badly positioned for growth. Other causes include infected teeth and roots. Extracting problematic teeth can help others grow normally and prevent overcrowding or damage to your oral health.  For these and other treatments, we offer sedation in the form of relaxing gas. This helps ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible, helping you to relax and avoiding discomfort.

ROOT CANAL THERAPY

Toothaches and other sensations of pain or sensitivity are often caused by an infected or damaged nerve within a tooth. Root canal therapy treats this condition and relieves pain and discomfort, while saving the structure of the tooth by removing only the damaged nerve. The inside of the tooth is then cleaned and filled. A dental crown will be required to reinforce the tooth. Root canal therapy allows for the tooth to be preserved and avoids more costly major procedures in the future.

PERIODONTAL TREATMENT

The best way to good oral health is regular maintenance through brushing, flossing, and visits to the dentist. However, when plaque is not removed and builds up on teeth, it hardens into tartar which causes infections below the gum line (gum disease). If left untreated, this kind of infection can affect the attachment of the gums, causing them to begin to separate or recede from teeth. This can result in Gingivitis (gum inflammation) which can progress to Periodontitis, a disease of the gum and bone around teeth. Regular debridement (scaling above and below the gum line) of the teeth and surrounding soft tissues can help prevent, reduce, or eliminate gum disease.

Night Guards / Sports Guards

Night Guard;

Involuntary teeth grinding or clenching occurs most often while you sleep. This is usually caused by stress or misaligned teeth, and can cause damage to your teeth and jaw joints. A custom-made night guard can help protect your teeth from these harmful effects. It is fitted to your upper or lower teeth to prevent teeth from grinding and position your jaw in a relaxed state.

Sports Guard;

Many sports activities carry significant risk to your teeth, jaw, and tongue. Help protect your smile with a custom fitted sports guard. The custom fit is molded to your mouth specifically, and can be designed to suit the needs of different athletes and sports, including varying thicknesses.

LASER DENTISTRY

We are proud to offer some of the latest advancements in dental techniques and technologies. Among these advancements has been the development of laser dentistry, which has become very important in recent years. Laser dentistry is used to treat a variety of gum conditions, including lesions, canker sores, and gum disease. It is also used for cosmetic purposes such as reshaping gums to create a more attractive smile. Laser dentistry is entirely safe and CDA (Canadian Dental Association) approved. It allows for a higher level of precision with less pain and bleeding than traditional surgical tools. One of the main advantages of laser procedures is the significantly reduced postoperative pain that patients experience, as well as faster healing times.
